BACKGROUND

Ordinance #04-05 established the Hideaway Beach Tax District, a dependent special district of the City of Marco Island, created to improve, renourish, preserve, maintain and monitor the beach property located within the boundaries of Hideaway Beach.

 

The governing board of the district, designed as the Board of Supervisors, is re-appointed by the City Council following the recommendations from the Hideaway Beach Associations’ Nominating Committee. All board members must be residents of the district and serve without compensation.

 

The Hideaway Beach Associations’ Nominating Committee is recommending to re-appoint the following Hideaway Beach property owners to serve as the Board of Supervisors of the Hideaway Beach Tax District Board:

 

                                                               Mr. John Barto

Mr. Richard Delawder

Ms. Linda Ryan

 

Note that with the 2024 appointments, the City Council shall appoint Members to serve three (3) year terms, as outlined in Ordinance 20-01.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution 24-11 appointing members to the Hideaway Beach Tax District Board.
