Authorize the City Manager to Issue a Purchase Order to Agnoli, Barber & Brundage, Inc. for Professional Engineering and Professional Environmental Services for the Sand Hill Street Pathway in the Amount of $113,830 using City of Marco Island Contract #2013-009 for Professional Services - Justin Martin, P.E., Director, Public Works
Body

BACKGROUND: The City of Marco Island desires to design an 8-ft wide shared pathway along the west side of Sand Hill Street from Leland Way to Winterberry Dr. The project corridor is approximately one-half mile in length with a 60-ft wide right-of-way throughout. A 5-ft wide sidewalk exists in portions of the corridor where homes have been built. These sections of the 5-ft wide sidewalk will be replaced with the 8-ft wide shared pathway. The proposed pathway will connect to the existing shared-use paths on Leland Way and Winterberry Dr. The proposed pathway will tie into the existing bridge crossing just north of Almeria Ct. No work on the bridge is included in this project. Per a "windshield survey" it appears the only environmental concern are Burrowing Owls. Costs to permit and remediate are included in this proposal. No additional environmental issues are considered currently. The City assumes that a Letter of Understanding for a Permit Exemption is all that is required from SFWMD. Agnoli, Barber, and Brundage is a professional consultant contracted by the City as part of Contract #2013-009.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this Purchase Order is included in the FY24 Capital Budget "pay as you go" plan under G/L no. 3005410-606300-16035, Bike Path - Committee Priority.
