BACKGROUND: 

 

As part of FY23 operating budget, City Council approved Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) study as one of the new initiatives and priorities. ITS is an intersection and traffic signal study for a better traffic flow on Marco Island roads. Detailed proposal dated September 21, 2022 from Trebilcock Consulting Solutions is attached to this agenda item.

 

Trebilcock Consulting Solutions, P. A. is one of the engineering firms shortlisted under the City’s Contract 19-012: Professional Services Library - Engineering & Architecture. Florida Statutes, Chapter 287.055, Consultants Competitive Negotiations Act (CCNA) allows to select shortlisted vendors for study activities where the fee for each individual study does not exceed $500,000.

 

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: $250,000.00 for this project was approved as one of Public Works FY23 capital budget initiatives.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Authorize the City Manager to Issue a Purchase Order to Trebilcock Consulting Solutions, P. A. for the Intelligent Traffic System Design in the Amount of $173,878.23 using the City’s Professional Services Contract #19-012
