First Amendment to the City Attorney Representation Agreement - Lina Upham, Purchasing & Risk Manager

BACKGROUND:
Current contract with the City Attorney was signed on February 5, 2015. During the FY23 operating budget workshop the City Attorney requested the adjustment to his monthly retainer and hourly rates, which have remained unchanged since 2015.
After discussion, City Council agreed to this request. This agenda item is the formal request to approve the First Amendment to the City Attorney representation agreement.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: All the necessary funds are available in the FY23 operating budget. New rates will be $12,500 per month for the base retainer (currently $10,000) and $275 per hour (currently $220) for those matters not covered by the base retainer fee. To the extent that clerks or paralegals may be used, their rate will be $150 per hour.
