Extension of the Contract #19-034 with Ronald Book, P.A. for Lobbying Services on behalf of the City of Marco Island, Florida, before the Florida Legislature for an additional One-Year term, expiring on September 30, 2022 at an Annual Amount of $66,000

BACKGROUND:
Ronald Book, P.A has been the City’s lobbyist since October 1, 2014. His contract has been extended several times since. Last time his contract was extended in June of 2019, and City Council agreed to increase the contract amount by 10%, from $60,000 to $66,000 annually.
Current contract term is set to expire on September 30, 2021. Please also note that either party may terminate the agreement with or without cause upon 30 days written notice.
Mr. Book submitted the letter agreeing to the extension of this contract.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: $66,000 annual fee is included in the proposed FY22 operating budget and is split 50/50 between general government operating fund and water and sewer utility operating fund.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to extend contract #19-034 with Ronald Book, P.A. for an additional one-year term.
