Body

BACKGROUND:
At the request of the City Council, the Public Works Department advertised bids for the construction of the Bald Eagle Drive Shared Use Pathway from Collier Boulevard to Old Marco Lane Project. The project will consist of the installation of 8-ft concrete sidewalk/shared use pathway from North Collier Boulevard northerly along the west side of Bald Eagle Drive to Old Marco Lane.

The project was advertised on February 11, 2021 and bids were received and opened on March 18, 2021. The City received five (5) bids as follows:

1. Coastal Site Development $559,460.00*
2. Bonness $582,342.08
3. Pavement Maintenance $638,000.00
4. Thompkins $640,182.95
5. ADEC $741,801.50

Please note that all the submitted bids did not include the $10,000.00 Owner set amount for the item VII. B. Relocate Utility Appurtenances, (by Utility Company). *Therefore, the correct bid amount for Coastal is $570,460.00 and is still the lowest responsible bid.

The award of the contract for the construction is recommended based on the lowest responsible bid.
