Award of Contract for the Construction of the Inlet Drive Sidewalk Shared Use Pathway from Addison Court to Travida Terrace Project to the Lowest Responsible Bidder, Coastal Site Development, in the Amount of $576,055.59

BACKGROUND:
At the request of the City Council, the Public Works Department advertised bids for the construction of the Inlet Drive Sidewalk Shared Use Pathway from Addison Court to Travida Terrace Project. The project will consist of the installation of 8-ft concrete sidewalk/shared use pathway from Addison Court northerly along Inlet Drive to Travida Terrace.
The project was advertised on February 11th, 2021 and bids were received and opened on March 18th, 2021. The City received five (5) bids as follows:
1. Coastal Site Development $576,055.59
2. Pavement Maintenance $633,930.00
3. ADEC $639,986.60
4. Bonness $672,916.87
5. LAS Contracting $777,362.30
The award of the contract for the construction is recommended based on the lowest responsible bid.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded the City a grant for this project in the amount of $579,350.00. Funding for this project is within the FY21 “pay as you go” Capital Improvement Program under G/L No. 3005410-606300-19059.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff has reviewed the bid submittals and supporting documents and recommends that the contract be awarded to Coastal Site Development, in the amount of $576,055.59.
POTENTIAL MOTION:
“I move to authorize the City Manager to award the contract and approve the purchase order for the construction of the Inlet Drive Sidewalk Shared Use Pathway from Addison Court to Travida Terrace Project to Coastal Site Development, in the amount not to exceed $576,055.59.”
