A Resolution Appointing Members to the Board of Directors of the Marco Island Community Parks Foundation, Inc.

BACKGROUND:
The Marco Island Community Parks Foundation (Corporation) was created in January 2020 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.
In accordance with the attached Articles of Incorporation, the affairs of the Corporation shall be managed by a Board of Directors, all of whom serve without compensation. Initially there shall be seven (7) Directors; one member shall be the Chair of the City’s Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee.
The attached resolution provides for the appointment of the following seven (7) volunteer members:
1. Mike Ilitch Jr.
2. Christina Ilitch DeObando
3. Rene Champagne
4. David Cox
5. Erik Brechnitz
6. Jim Richards
7. Dr. Carlos Portu, Chair of Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: N / A
RECOMMENDATION: Approve appointments to the Marco Island Community Parks Foundation.
