Body

BACKGROUND:
The South Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) second floor electrical control room houses six Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) which serve six pumps that feed water through six reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment membrane trains. The primary cooling system in the VFD room has failed and consisted of two 10-ton Daikin outdoor condensing units and five indoor fan coil type evaporator units. The air conditioning system was installed 10 years ago. The backup cooling system is not able to meet the cooling load demand.

The work includes the removal and disposal of the existing air conditioning systems, and the provision, installation and commissioning of a new high efficiency air conditioning system including but not limited to: indoor air handler units, outdoor condensing units, control system, ductwork, drain piping, pipe connections, and installation of all electrical connections and modifications, if needed.

The bid was posted on 09/09/2020; bids were due on 10/15/2020, 344 suppliers were notified of this bid, 6 suppliers downloaded the bid package; and two suppliers submitted bids on 10/15/2020. The following is the tabulation of the bids. The bids include a $10,000 contingency.
