Approving the Purchase Order for a new, fully equipped, 2020 Ford F350, 4 Door, 4X4 for the Fire Rescue Department, in the amount of $58,145.00, from Tamiami Ford Inc.

BACKGROUND:
The Fire Rescue Department is requesting the purchase of a new, fully equipped 2020 Ford F350 which is included within the FY20 Capital Improvement Program. This truck will function within our fleet as Squad 51.
The new truck will be purchased using the pricing from the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract FSA19-VEL27.0 through Tamiami Ford Inc., for the amount of $39,493.00. Tamiami Ford will acquire and install all specialized equipment for the total amount of $18,652.00.
The City has purchased specialized equipment and services from Tamiami in the past. Due to Tamiami Ford’s expertise and knowledge of emergency fleet vehicles and equipment, including warranty services, this is in the best interest of the City.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this Purchase Order is in the approved FY20 Capital Budget, located in G/L No. 300-5220-606400-16095 “Fire Engines/Squad Replacement”.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the purchase of the new Squad 51 in the amount of $58,145.00.
POTENTIAL MOTION:
“I move to authorize the City Manager to approve the purchase order for Squad 51 in an amount of $58,145.00”.
