Resolution of the City Council of Marco Island, Florida, approving the Fiscal Year 2020-21 Non-Ad Valorem Assessment Rolls

BACKGROUND:
A resolution continuing the past practice of directing the preparation of the annual tax roll of non-ad valorem assessments by staff and submitted to the Collier County Tax Collector’s Office for collection on the 2020 property tax bills. There are 13 years remaining until the final assessment is paid off for the last project completed, and 6 years remaining for the first project completed. By previous action, Council approved the use of the Uniform Method of Collection for property owners to pay the STRP sewer assessments through annual payments as a non-ad valorem assessment on the tax bill.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: N / A
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the approval of the resolution that directs preparation of the tax roll of property owners electing annual payments on the property tax bill and submittal of the tax roll to the Collier County Tax Collector. This method of collection is consistent with City Council’s direction for repayment options for the STRP assessments.
