Award of Contract for Purchase of Standby Generators to L.J. Power, Inc., in the amount of $2,640,000.00 (60 generators at $44,000 each)

BACKGROUND: 

The project consists of the purchase of 60 sanitary lift station portable generators.  The project was advertised on April 15, 2020 and bids were received and opened on May 15, 2020.  The City received 20 bids for this project.

 

Award of the contract for purchase of the generators is recommended based on the lowest responsible bid.

 

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:

G/L No. 431-5300-5360-606400-19001. 75% grant and 25% CIP reserves.

 

RECOMMENDATION: 

Staff has reviewed the bid submittals and supporting documents and recommends that the contract be awarded to L.J. Power, Inc., in the amount of $2,640,000.00.

 

POTENTIAL MOTION:  

“I move to authorize the City Manager to award the contract and approve the purchase order for the purchase of 60 standby generators to LJ Power, Inc. in the amount of $2,640,000.00.”
