Reappointment of the Special Magistrate Myrnabelle Roche, Esq. for an additional Two-Year Term

BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to Section 14-21 (a) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Marco Island, the City Council appoints Special Magistrates to hear code enforcement matters brought pursuant to the authority of Chapter 162, Florida Statutes. Pursuant to Section 14-21 (c) of the Code of Ordinances any Special Magistrates shall be eligible for reappointment by City Council.
Myrnabelle Roche, Esq. has performed her duties faithfully and efficiently. During her tenure Ms. Roche has demonstrated both firmness and fairness, as well as understanding of local priorities and concerns.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: In FY20 there’s $17,915 budgeted for this service in the Code Compliance operating budget. This exact amount has been budgeted withing the past several years.
RECOMMENDATION: Reappoint Special Magistrate Myrnabelle Roche, Esq. for an additional two-year term.
