Approving the Purchase Order for Atkins North America, Inc., for the Survey and Design of the San Marco Drive Shared Use Pathway Project, in an amount not to exceed $112,701.30.

BACKGROUND:
The San Marco Road Pathway Project has been a major part of the Public Works Department and the Bike Committee Mast Plan for several years. Included in this project will be a 10-ft. wide concrete shared use pathway on the south side of San Marco Road extending from 400-ft. east of Vintage Bay Drive (Marco Academy) east to the Goodland Road bike path. The construction of this project will be funded by a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation in the amount of $650,062.00.
Atkins North America, Inc. is an approved engineering service provider under our current engineering Services Contract No. 19-012.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this survey and design portion of the project will come from the Public Works FY19 Capital Improvement Program recurring funding account No. 3035410-606300-19058, which contains $112,701.30 for this pathway design.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff has reviewed the proposal and the scope of the work and recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to prepare and approve the Purchase Order to Atkins North America, Inc., in the amount not to exceed $112,701.30.
