Approving the Purchase Order for a New, Fully Equipped, 2021 Ford F-150 Crew Cab, 4WD XL 5.5’ Bed 145” WB for the Fire Rescue Department, in the Amount of $49,735.00, from Alan Jay Fleet Sales
Body
BACKGROUND:
The Fire Rescue Department is requesting the purchase of a new, fully equipped 2021 Ford F-150 which is included within the FY21 Capital Improvement Program. This truck will function within our fleet as the Training Officer 523 vehicle. The existing Training Officer vehicle will be included as a trade-in to Alan Jay Fleet Sales. The City will use the trade in of $5,250.00 to reduce the total cost of the new truck.
The new truck will be purchased using the pricing from the Florida Sheriffs Association Contract FSA20-VEL28.0 through Alan Jan Fleet Sales, in the amount of $54,985.00 less $5,250.00 for the trade-in of the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe. The 2011 Tahoe is the current Training Officer vehicle. The cost after the trade in is $49,735.00.
The City has purchased specialized equipment and services from Alan Jay Fleet Sales in the past. Due to Alan Jay Fleet Sales expertise and knowledge of emergency fleet vehicles and equipment, including warranty services, this is in the best interest of the City.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this Purchase Order is in the approved FY21 Capital Budget, located in G/L No. 300-5220-606400-16092 “Fire Staff Vehicle Replacement”.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the purchase of the new Training Officer Vehicle in the amount of $54,985.00 less trade in of $5,250.00, for a total cost of $49,735.00.
POTENTIAL MOTION:
“I move to authorize the City Manager to approve the purchase order for the Training Officer vehicle in an amount of $54,985.00, less trade in of $5,250.00, for a total cost of $49,735.00.”
