Presentation with Council Action - Marco Island Racquet Center Expansion with Private Funds - Mr. Tim Annett

BACKGROUND:
During the City Council Workshop on February 9, 2026, Mr. Tim Annett provided insight into his initiative for a 30-day study to identify recommendations to reduce the impact of pickleball-playing noise based on varying number of courts at the Marco Island Racquet Center. The City Council has invited Mr. Tim Annett to present his findings, master plan, and recommendations for the Marco Island Racquet Center.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: N / A
RECOMMENDATION: Discuss recommendation and provide direction to staff based on possible scenarios:
1. Support expansion; staff to work with Mr. Annet on parking, lighting, set back, drainage, permitting requirements
2. Staff report back on alternative locations or cost of indoor facility
3. Keep existing facility as is and direct staff to make improvements with remaining pickleball funds (resurface courts, replace fence, add sound panels)
