Proclamation - Domestic Violence Awareness Month

BACKGROUND:
Domestic Violence Awareness Month is in October. Advocates and survivors across the country wear purple to raise awareness, show solidarity, and honor those affected by domestic violence.
The City Council joins Linda Oberhaus, CEO of The Shelter for Abused Women and Children, to bring awareness of Domestic Violence. The Shelter serves victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. Ms. Oberhaus will receive the proclamation on behalf of the employees and those individuals who may have need or have used the Shelter’s offerings.
