BACKGROUND:
To comply with the City's water quality goals (Category 4e plan), the City proposes capturing and filtering out contaminants and nutrients before discharge into the waterways. This effort will enhance water quality, meet regulatory standards, and provide environmental benefits to the community.
The project is an approximately 6-mile corridor on South Collier Blvd, extending from Huron Street to Collier Court. The proposed work includes excavation, grading, and the installation of exfiltration swales using perforated pipes, filter fabric, and 57 stone, along with necessary sodding to integrate the system with the existing stormwater infrastructure.
The project (ITB #2025-027) was advertised on April 20, 2025. It was broadcast to 1187 vendors, 29 of whom downloaded the bid package. The City received five (5) responsive bids on May 27, 2025. The bids include a $20,000 owner's contingency for unforeseen expenses.
