BACKGROUND:
The City of Marco Island owns and maintains approximately 290 miles of sanitary sewer mains and over 2,100 manholes. Sanitary sewer manhole structures are susceptible to aging and deteriorating, threatening the integrity of the entire sanitary sewer collection system. This project consists of the repair and lining of existing manholes located along Marco Lake Drive, Front Street, 1st Ave, 2nd Ave, 3rd Ave, Quail Dr, 5th Ave, 6th Ave, and Nassau Ct. in Marco Island, Florida. A total of 35 existing manholes of approx. 4 ft in diameter and total 208 vertical feet will be rehabilitated and repaired as needed. This is an annual maintenance project.
B&J Lining, Inc., is a qualified contractor with over 18 years of experience and is under the Sanitary Sewer Manhole Lining Services Contract (#2024-015) with the City. This Contract is valid until 07/2027. The city staff have reviewed the material costs, and the level of effort required and have determined that B&J is recommended to perform the work.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this project is provided in the approved FY25 Water and Sewer Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Fund 430. Under GL account: 430-5300-5356-60350-16125 - (Sanitary Sewer Manhole Repair and Lining).
