BACKGROUND: The Beautification Advisory Committee was being prevented by both Water & Sewer and LCEC from planting trees on Leland Way due to utility policies and restrictions. On April 1, 2026, meeting, however, the committee decided that they can work with the following constraints: staying away from pump stations, main line and sewer laterals and not planting on the north side.
In the May 6, 2026, meeting, the BAC voted on having Affordable Landscaping (one of the lowest bids Fleet & Facilities Director Joe Parrilli obtained) to plant trees on Leland Way. Updates are expected in the June 3, 2026, meeting.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: BAC Budget.
