BACKGROUND:
As part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve pedestrian infrastructure and enhance multimodal safety, crosswalk improvements have been identified at key locations where pedestrian activity, roadway geometry, and traffic conditions warrant enhanced crossing treatments.
The scope of work includes construction of two pedestrian crosswalk improvements at Heathwood Drive at Andalusia Terrace and Barfield Drive, between Piedmont Court and Wavecrest Court, featuring pedestrian-activated flashing beacons, replacement of sidewalks with detectable warnings, drainage modifications, installation of streetlights and traffic control signage, and placement of thermoplastic pavement markings.
To implement these improvements, the City issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 2026-002 and solicited competitive bids from qualified contractors. The project was broadcast to 1060 vendors, and the City received five (5) bids.
City staff evaluated all bids for responsiveness and compliance with project requirements, and Infinite Construction LLC. was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this project is included in the FY26 Capital Budget plan under G/L No. 300-5410-606300-25002.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff has reviewed the bid submittals and supporting documents and recommends that the Contract be awarded to Infinite Construction, LLC, for $156,160.34.
