BACKGROUND: The scope of services under this Purchase Order is intended for Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. to assist the City of Marco Island and the Hideaway Beach District Board with the application and processing of state and federal permits from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Hideaway Beach Erosion Control Project.
The services include regulatory coordination, preparation of required environmental documentation, and submission of permit applications necessary to support ongoing beach nourishment, dune enhancement, and maintenance activities within the project area.
Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. is a City-approved coastal engineering consultant under Contract No. 2023-009, effective through March 8, 2026.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: All the necessary funds are available in the Tax District’s fiscal year 2026 budget (account #:150-5700-5371-523100) .

RECOMMENDATION: City staff has reviewed this proposal and recommends that the City Council authorize the Interim City Manager to approve the purchase order for the Hideaway Beach Erosion Control Project - Renewal Permit in the amount of $124,840.
