BACKGROUND:

The Collier County Coastal Advisory Committee (CAC) was established in 2001 to assist the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with its unified beach erosion control and inlet management programs and advise the BCC and the Tourist Development Council (TDC) of project priorities with respect to funding sources that are available for restoration and protection of our shoreline.

The nine member CAC is composed of three members from the unincorporated area of Collier County, three members from the City of Naples, and three members from the City of Marco Island.

The committee meets at 1 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month in the Board of County Commission Chambers located on the third floor, Collier County Government Center, 3299 Tamiami Trail E., Naples, Florida 34112 The terms are four years.

Selection for membership on this committee will be based upon the applicant's familiarity with coastal processes, inlet dynamics, coastal management programs, or demonstrated interest in such programs; relevant education and experience; leadership and involvement in community affairs; and willingness to attend meetings and to undertake and complete assignments.

The current CAC members representing the City of Marco Island are Vice Chairman Erik Brechnitz (term ending 5/22/2027), Mr. Bob Roth (term ending 5/22/2028), and Mr. Stephen Koziar, term ends 5/22/2025. Mr. Koziar has served on the CAC since May 2017.

The appointment to the CAC has been advertised through press releases and social media. Applications have been received from the following interested candidates:
