Tree City USA Application Update (M. Needles)

BACKGROUND:  At the Committee’s September 3, 2025 meeting, The Committee briefly noted the impending annual application window for Tree City USA applications.

Vice-Chair Linda Scherzinger volunteered to reach out to Assistant City Manager Casey Lucius to obtain the necessary background that Ms. Lucius collected on behalf of the Committee for the most recent year's Tree City USA application, and Chair Needles initiated an effort to submit the Committee’s application on behalf of the City of Marco Island.

An update on the status of the Committee’s submission is expected to be discussed at the Committee’s October 1^st meeting.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: 2026 Fiscal Year Tree Fund (if approved by City Council).

RECOMMENDATION:  Receive Chair Needles’ report.

POTENTIAL MOTION:   None expected.
