Chair Needles’ Committee Update (M. Needles)

BACKGROUND: At the Committee’s March 5, 2025 meeting, Chair Needles briefly summarized the highlights of his presentation to the Marco Island City Council on March 3, 2025 regarding the Committee's current activities and, later in the meeting, he noted his effort to meet with each Marco Island City Council member to solicit her/his input on the Committee's future direction.
Chair Needles also initiated an outreach to the owners of several commercial properties in the East Elkcam Circle/Tallwood Street area of the Island to solicit their interest in donating toward the Committee’s Ten Thousand Trees initiative in that area.
Additionally, Chair Needles augmented Director Martin's report on the Winterberry Drive and Maple Avenue Beach Access Enhancement Projects with insights from his discussion with the Chair of the City's Beach & Coastal Advisory Committee, and he indicated his intention to engage in on-going communication with the Chair of that Committee.
Chair Needles will update the Committee on his ongoing discussions with the parties noted above as well as other topics of Committee interest.
