BACKGROUND

The Collier Coastal Advisory Committee, CAC, was established in 2001 by Collier County Ordinance 2001-03.   The purpose of this committee is to assist the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) with its unified beach erosion control and inlet management programs and advise the BCC and the Tourist Development Council (TDC) of project priorities with respect to funding sources that are available for restoration and protection of our shoreline.  The nine-member CAC is composed of three members from the unincorporated area of Collier County, three members from the City of Naples, and three members from the City of Marco Island (2 residents and 1 City Council member).  Meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m.

This current position is to fill a vacated seat from former Councilor Erik Brechnitz, who passed away in April 2026.

The 2 other CAC members representing the City of Marco Island are residents, Mr. Dan High and Mr. Bob Roth.

Councilor Henry will serve out Councilor Brechnitz’s term until it is completed (May 22, 2027).
