Title
Resolution - Amending the Schedule of Civil Penalties and Fines to Increase the Administrative Fee Assessed upon the Failed Appeal of a Code Enforcement Citation or Notice of Violation - Joseph Belardo, Interim Police Chief
Body
BACKGROUND:
As presented and approved at City Council’s budget workshop on May 18,2026, the fee amended increase for Civil Penalties and Fines.
The attached resolution updates the administrative fees assessed against a respondent who appeals a citation or notice of violation, in the event the special Magistrate determines that a violation did in fact occur.
The current administrative fee of fifty dollars ($50.00), which has not been changed since Resolution 15-31, dated December 1, 2014, is insufficient to cover reasonable administrative costs.
The increase to One hundred seventy-five dollars ($175.00), would be sufficient to cover these costs incurred by the city in administering and adjudicating such appeals.
