BACKGROUND

Section 30-796 of the Land Development Code allows community event permits sponsored by nonprofit, charitable, civic, or membership organizations within the City of Marco Island for up to two weeks’ duration, such that during any calendar year the sum total of all event dates do not exceed 28 days. However, event permits may be allowed for an additional period of up to four weeks or 28 days with approval of the Marco Island City Council.

The Jewish Congregation of Marco Island wishes to request approval for an additional 28 days to hold additional community events for fundraising, which would include the public providing a donation for parking in the parking lot during the dates attached.
