Approval of the Fire Apparatus Maintenance Services Agreement with the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District - Chris Byrne, Chief, Fire Rescue Department
Body

BACKGROUND:
The City of Marco Island Fire Rescue Department maintains its fire apparatus fleet in conformance to NFPA standards which requires the mechanics to be certified emergency vehicle technicians (EVT). The City has utilized an Apparatus Maintenance Services Agreement with the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District who staff their fleet services division with emergency vehicle technicians. A Service Agreement has been in place for 25 years, renewed every 3 years. The Apparatus Maintenance Services Agreement provides for as-needed maintenance and repair services of the city's fire apparatus fleet.

The attached Agreement for Apparatus Maintenance Services continues the specialized service inclusive of the loaning of reserve apparatus and on-call emergency service. The agreement has a one-year term with two one-year renewals. In accordance with the City Purchasing Policy, Sec. 2-255 (c) (5) this item is considered a non-competitive purchase "Where goods and services are available from federal, state or local government agencies".

The service agreement renewal includes a fleet mechanic hourly rate of $125, a $10 per hour increase over the previous agreement, and $250.00 per day fee for a loaner fire apparatus from the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District.

There are no local vendors available to provide fleet services with EVT certified fleet mechanics.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: $136,000.00 is contained in the FY26 Fire Rescue Department Operating Budget, Repair and Maintenance of Vehicles #0015220-524606.

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to execute the Fire Apparatus Maintenance Services Agreement with the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District.
