Tree-Planting Plans for Swallow Avenue & Bald Eagle Drive (J. Martin)

BACKGROUND: At the Committee’s January 8, 2025 meeting, the Committee approved the swales along Swallow Avenue as the location for its next tree-planting initiative after the completion of its South Heathwood Drive effort under the City’s 2025 Tree Fund budget.
Separately, at the Committee’s May 7, 2025 meeting, as the result of LCEC’s removal of eleven (11) trees along Bald Eagle Drive during April 2025, Director Martin indicated that the Beautification Advisory Committee would be consulted for its recommendation(s) of desired tree species prior to the City’s replacement of the eleven trees removed by LCEC.
Director Martin’s update on the status of both initiatives is expected at the Committee’s September 3, 2025 meeting.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: 2025 Fiscal Year Budget.
RECOMMENDATION: Receive Director Martin’s update.
POTENTIAL MOTION: None expected.
