BACKGROUND: 

Based on collective bargaining negotiations between the City of Marco Island and the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police, Inc. Collective Bargaining Unit, both sides agreed to the terms of the attached Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), including 1) a 5% wage increase for bargaining unit members effective June 3^rd, 2) a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new employees, and 3) a 5% adjustment to the salary scale for Police Offices.  A resolution outlining the agreement and the memorandum of understanding are attached for city council review and approval.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: Approximately $52,000 for the 5% wage adjustment and $15,000 for the sign-on bonus for the remainder of FY24 paid for through Police Department attrition.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution 24-28 and Memorandum of Understanding as presented.
