Title

Resolution Ratifying the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local No. 2887 - Chris Byrne, Fire Chief, Fire Rescue Department

Body

BACKGROUND

The members of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local No. 2887  (Local 2887) have successfully negotiated a collective bargaining agreement with the City of Marco Island, recognizing concerns for both the members and the City.  The proposed contract creates market comparability in salary and benefits. It further states that the agreement will automatically renew for an additional year if neither party requests to negotiate a successor agreement.  Local 2887 and the City have been in negotiations for five months and through the process have reached a three-year successor agreement.  Attached you will find the proposed successor agreement and a summary memo that describes the major proposed changes to the agreement.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:  The funding source is the Fire Rescue Department Operating Budget for FY 26, FY27 and FY28. The fiscal impact is $833,119.41 or 17.8% over the three-year contract period.
