BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to Section 14-21 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Marco Island, the City Council appoints Special Magistrates to hear code enforcement matters brought pursuant to the authority of Chapter 162, Florida Statutes. Pursuant to Section 14-21 (c) of the Code of Ordinances, any Special Magistrate shall be eligible for reappointment for additional two-year terms with City Council approval.
The current Magistrate Agreement commenced on December 4, 2023, through December 4, 2025. Robert D. Pritt has agreed to an additional two-year extension.
Initial contract was signed in September 2024 at an hourly rate of $215/hour.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: In FY25, account #0015290-523400, $17,915 is budgeted for this service in the Code Compliance operating budget. This exact amount has been budgeted for the past several years.
