Authorize the Interim City Manager to Issue a Purchase Order to Central Florida Yamaha in the Amount of $83,398 using the State Contract 47QSWA23D006A- Chief Tracy Frazzano, Police Department.
Body

BACKGROUND:

The Marco Island Police Department patrol boat is a 2021 32-foot Contender currently equipped with outboard engines that have accumulated approximately 2,600 operating hours. The manufacturer's estimated service life for these motors is 3,000-4,000 hours, placing them near the end of their expected operational lifespan.
The vessel itself remains in excellent condition. Through consistent preventive maintenance and proper operation, the hull and onboard systems have retained their structural and mechanical integrity and are suitable for continued service following repower.
The patrol boat is a critical asset used for routine patrol, emergency response, and public safety operations. Proactive engine replacement minimizes service interruptions and ensures the vessel remains fully mission-capable. The motors currently retain trade-in value, which can be leveraged to offset repower costs. Delaying replacement beyond this point increases the risk of mechanical failure, unplanned downtime, emergency repair expenses, and reduced availability for patrol and emergency response.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:

This repower is a planned component of the department's long-term maintenance plan and has already been accounted for in the approved budget, account 3005210-606410-16112. Utilizing trade-in value and completing the replacement prior to engine end-of-life supports cost control and asset lifecycle management.

RECOMMENDATION:

Authorize the Interim City Manager to issue a Purchase Order to Central Florida Yamaha, for the replacement of the outboard motors on the Police 32' Contender in the Amount of $83,398 using the State Contract 47QSWA23D006A.
