BACKGROUND:
Domestic Violence Awareness Month is in October, with the national theme of "With Survivors, Always". This campaign aims to raise awareness, support survivors, and educate communities on warning signs and resources, and promotes conversations about ending domestic violence. A key event during the month is Purple Thursday.
Purple Thursday, the national day of action for Domestic Violence Awareness Month is on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Advocates and survivors across the country wear purple on this day to raise awareness, show solidarity, and honor those affected by domestic violence.
