BACKGROUND

 

The Marco Island Community Parks Foundation was organized as a not-for-profit corporation in January 2020 to provide educational, cultural and charitable support for the City’s Parks.  The Board of Directors consists of no less than 7 and no more than 11 Directors (in addition to the City Clerk who is an ex-officio member of the Board). 

 

Currently, there is a vacancy on the Foundation; the position requires a new Director to be appointed.

 

According to Section 6.6 of the Articles of Incorporation for the Marco Island Community Parks Foundation, the City’s Chairperson, with the affirmative vote of the City Council, shall designate a replacement to fill the vacancy. 

 

Council Chairperson Erik Brechnitz is nominating Mr. Greg Folley to fill the 7th Director’s seat on the Marco Island Community Parks Foundation.

 

 

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:  No budget impact.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Approval of Resolution 25-38.

 

 

POTENTIAL MOTION:  “I move to approve Resolution 25-38, appointing Mr. Greg Folley to serve on the Board of Directors of the City of Marco Island Community Parks Foundation.”
