Title

Resolution - Adopting Updated Civil Penalties and Fines for  Enforcement of the City's Code of Ordinances Utilizing the Notice of Violation Procedure - Jeff Katims, Consultant, Research Director, GFK

Body

BACKGROUND

The City Council previously adopted a schedule of civil penalties by resolution, which the Special Magistrate may reference as guidance when imposing penalties under the notice of violation code enforcement procedure. However, there are several provisions in the Code of Ordinances that provide specific guidance for issuing  fines under the notice of violation procedure. In an effort to streamline the Code, all penalty amounts have been deleted in favor of adoption  by resolution. This Resolution adopts the fines specified in the Code for certain  violations that are enforced using the notice of violation procedure.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:  According to fine identified in the resolution.

RECOMMENDATION:  Approval of Resolution 24-54.
