BACKGROUND:
The State of Florida has updated the 2018 Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement as specified under Florida State Statute 252. The agreement is to be executed by local government entities. The agreement sets forth conditions when governmental agencies provide or receive resources during declared disasters. The agreement also provides procedures for reimbursement for services rendered and resources supplied. The City of Marco Island has an executed agreement dating back to the early 2000’s. As a participant, the City received mutual aid resources following Hurricane Ian and supplied resources to North Florida following Hurricane Idalia.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: N / A
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended to approve by resolution the 2023 Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement.
