Electronic Tolling System for Marco Island Bridges - Councilor Tamara Goehler

BACKGROUND:
During the August 4, 2025, City Council meeting, Councilor Goehler expressed interest in exploring alternative revenue streams for the City. One potential option mentioned was the implementation of an electronic tolling system for the Marco Island bridges.
To better understand the feasibility, operations, and implications of an electronic tolling system in the vicinity of Marco Island’s bridges, Councilor Goehler recommended initiating a Request for Information (RFI) process to engage a qualified professional to conduct an analysis.

RECOMMENDATION: Discussion and provide direction to staff.
POTENTIAL MOTION: “I move to direct staff to start an RFI process for a qualified professional who would provide an analysis and recommendation concerning electronic tolling systems near the Marco Island bridges”.
