BACKGROUND:
The San Marco Road/Barfield Drive intersection and South Barfield Drive area consistently flood during storms due to an inadequate storm sewer system. Drainage improvements for this area were identified in the City's Comprehensive Stormwater Master Plan, dated May 2000. The City solicited and received a $500,000 FDEP grant for the design and construction of drainage improvements in this area. The City's consultant completed the design, and the City publicly bid the construction of these drainage improvements.
This project (ITB #2024-021) was advertised on March 24, 2024. The project was broadcast to 1,538 vendors; 27 downloaded the bid package; and the City received a total of five bids on April 29, 2024. The bids include a $60,000 owner's contingency for unforeseen expenses.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this project is provided in the capital "PW Master Plan Drainage Citywide" account (300-5400-5410-606300-16028).
