BACKGROUND:
The Airnasium at Mackle Park is in critical need of replacement. The project was allocated funding for FY25, with $440,287.00 remaining after covering architectural and engineering costs. On May 16, 2025, a single bid was received through the open bid process from Rycon Construction in the amount of $570,873.48.
To fully fund the Airnasium project, the City proposes reappropriating $130,586.48 from the cancelled Racquet Center project. Additionally, the City plans to use the remaining $503,206.48 from the Racquet Center project for facility improvements. Proposed improvements include:
1. Removal of the currently unusable racquetball building and conversion of the space to parking
2. Resurfacing of four tennis courts
3. Possible replacement of one tennis court with a pickleball court
4. Installation of remaining Acoustiblok sound panels on the fence line
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:
The Airnasium project will be funded through:
* $440,287.00 already allocated in FY25
* $130,586.48 reappropriated from the cancelled Racquet Center project
The remaining $503,206.47 from the Racquet Center project will be reallocated for facility maintenance and upgrades, as listed above.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommend funding the Airnasium project with the already budgeted $440,287.00 and an additional $130,586.48 from the cancelled Racquet Center project. Staff further recommend reappropriating the remaining $503,206.47 from the Racquet Center project to support necessary Racquet center upgrades.
