BACKGROUND:
At the December 4, 2023 City Council meeting, Councilor Folley presented a white paper proposing that the Council support bringing forward an ordinance that establishes Marco Island as a Bill of Rights Sanctuary City in the State of Florida to protect the citizens of Marco Island from Federal overreach.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: No anticipated financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance on first reading.
POTENTIAL MOTION: “I move approval of the Ordinance on first reading.”
