Update on the City’s 5/9/24 Beach Access Funding Request (S. Connelly)

Body

BACKGROUND:  At the Committee’s April 3, 2024 meeting, Public Works Director Justin Martin updated the Committee on the status of the City's request for Collier County Tourist Development Council (TDC) consideration in funding improvements to the City's beach access pathways.

He indicated that a review and approval is required with the Collier County Coastal Advisory Committee (CAC) prior to advancing to the TDC and, eventually, the Collier County Board of Commissioners, and that the City’s presentation to the CAC was scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2024 beginning at 1:00 P.M.

Chair Connelly thanked Public Works Director Justin Martin for his update on the City's request for Collier County Tourist Development Council (TDC) funds, and she requested the opportunity for the Committee to participate in, and offer in-person support, when the City presents its request at the Collier County Coastal Advisory Committee (CAC) on May 9th. Public Works Director Martin indicated that the City’s request is being prepared by the City’s Fleet & Facilities Team.

Chair Connelly indicated her intention to reach out to City Fleet & Facilities Manager Miguel Carballo to offer the Committee’s conceptual drawings, descriptive information, and in-person CAC meeting support, and she promised to return with an update to the Committee on her discussion with Mr. Carballo when the Committee next meets on May 1, 2024.
