BACKGROUND: At the Committee’s April 3, 2024 meeting, Marco Island resident Ms.Rene Ford encouraged the Committee to support her organization's effort to generate donations to fund pedestrian benches and waste receptacles along stretches of Bald Eagle Drive, South Heathwood Avenue, San Marco Road, Winterberry Drive, and at the Island Yacht Club-side base of the Judge S.S. Jolley Bridge.
Public Works Director Justin Martin agreed to bring estimates of the per unit cost for durable, hurricane-resistant benches and waste receptacles to the Committee’s next meeting.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: N / A
RECOMMENDATION: Receive Director Martin’s report. Communicate the information to Ms. Ford and the Rotary Club of Marco Island Noontime organization.
POTENTIAL MOTION: None expected.
