Award of Contract to Capital Contractors LLC to Make Emergency Repairs to Fire Station 51 for Water Damage in the Amount of $86,900.00 - Joseph Parrilli, Fleet & Facilities Manager
BACKGROUND:
Fire Station 51 has experienced an ongoing water leak for approximately six months. Despite multiple attempts, the Facilities team has been unable to identify the source of the issue. To assist with diagnosis, a moisture detection company was contracted to evaluate the three second-floor shower areas located above the apparatus bay.
Based on the findings, repairs were completed at the locations identified in the moisture report; however, the leak persists and has resulted in significant damage to the ceiling within the bay area.
The attached proposal outlines a comprehensive repair plan to address multiple suspected leak points and includes the removal and replacement of all wet or damaged drywall associated with the corrective work.
An alternate price of $65,750 is included and will only be required if the shower pans were improperly installed and confirmed to be the cause of the leak. If this condition is identified, all affected shower pans will need to be removed and replaced.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:
$86,900 will be funded from Fire Station capital for fire station renovations 300-5200-5220-606200-16014
