Title

Review of Committee’s Charter & 2025 Goals/Workplan (All)

Body

BACKGROUND:  At the September 13, 2023 Beautification Advisory Committee Workshop led by former City Councilor Rich Blonna, the Committee received its updated “Charter” from the Marco Island City Council (Resolution 23-31), and it engaged in a process to solidify and confirm its goals and objectives for calendar year 2024. (Note: these goals and objectives were approved at the Committee’s October 4, 2023 meeting).

Since the November, 2024 election of Marco Island City Councilors, several Council members have actively elevated the perception, visibility, and importance of the City’s Advisory Committees in assisting the Council to address the Island’s issues.

Given that all seven members of the current Beautification Advisory Committee were not in their current postions to participate in the September 13, 2023 Workshop noted above, a review of the Committee’s most recent “Charter” (i.e. Resolution 23-31), Goals, and Objectives should be undertaken by the Committee to confirm its direction and maximize its contribution to the City and the community of Marco Island.

The attached documentation from the September 13, 2023 Workshop is provided to assist the Committee in its review at its June 4, 2025 meeting.
