DISCUSSION - Continued from June 5, 2026 - Change in fence heights on residential lots. Section 30-1009. - Daniel J. Smith, AICP, Director

Body

DESCRIPTION:

The Planning Board asked staff to review the fence height requirements in Section 30-1009 because of elevation differences between existing and new homes in rear yards. In response to changes in flood map elevations on residential lots, staff revised Section 30-1009(b)2 to increase the permitted fence height from 4 feet to 6 feet, allowing for the required 4-foot safety barrier around pools.

If this is acceptable, the changes will come back in ordinance form for Planning Board approval.
