BACKGROUND:
The AI Task Force, established by City Manager Mike McNees, was created to evaluate how the City of Marco Island can responsibly and effectively incorporate artificial intelligence into municipal operations. The group’s mission is to research emerging AI technologies, identify tools that provide meaningful benefits to the community, and develop a policy framework to guide the ethical and secure use of AI across all city departments.
As a result of their efforts, the Task Force has produced a comprehensive AI policy. This agenda item presents those findings.
