BACKGROUND:
Pavement markings are essential to roadway safety and traffic operations. Over time, striping will fade and is removed because of traffic wear, weather exposure, and UV degradation, which reduces visibility and creates potential safety hazards. Regular restriping ensures that travel lanes, intersections, crosswalks, and other pavement markings remain visible and compliant with regulatory standards.
The City of Marco Island publicly advertised the 2025 Roadway Restriping project (ITB #2025-026) on May 4, 2025. With electronic bids due by June 6, 2025. The project includes furnishing all labor, materials, and necessary equipment to restripe traffic markings at various locations across the city. These include sections on Bald Eagle Dr., Collier Blvd., San Marco Rd., Elkcam Circle, among others.
The project was broadcast to 622 vendors, and the City received a total of four responsible bids. A $10,000 owner’s contingency is included for unforeseen conditions.

Upon examination of the submitted bids, City staff has determined that the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder is McShea Contracting LLC. City staff recommends awarding the contract to McShea Contracting LLC for the Marco Island 2025 Roadway Restriping project.
The portions of the streets to be restriped are depicted in the attached map.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for this project is included within the Public Works FY25 Capital Improvement Program Fund for Roadway Restriping under G/L No. 300-5410-606300-25005.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff has reviewed the bid submittals and supporting documents and recommends that the Contract be awarded to McShea Contracting LLC., in the amount of $159,471.95.
