BACKGROUND

The City of Marco Island published a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to establish a contract with qualified contractors who have the expertise, capabilities and experience to install high-quality, durable and efficient coating system for sanitary sewer manholes and wet wells structures within the City of Marco Island, Key Marco, Marco Shores, and Isles of Capri.

Work awarded under this contract is limited to the projects in which the construction cost of each individual project does not exceed $300,000 (Section 255.20, Florida Statutes). Jobs over $200,000 will require posting of payment and performance bonds (Section 255.05, Florida Statutes).  All jobs over $50,000 will require a separate City Council approval (Section 2-258 (2), City of Marco Island Purchasing Ordinance #11-3).

The solicitation was broadcast to 164 vendors, 25 vendors downloaded the plans/specifications and the City received ten (10) responses. Submittals have been subsequently reviewed by a selection committee, and a recommendation has been made to award contracts to the companies as outlined in the attached Final Scoring Worksheet.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact from the award of these contracts. Funding for the individual jobs is included in the department’s capital improvement budget under 430-5300-5356-606350-16125 Sanitary Sewer Manhole Repair and Lining.

RECOMMENDATION:  Authorize the City Manager to execute contracts with eight (8) companies for Sanitary Sewer Manhole Lining Services on an as-needed basis for a three (3) year term with a possibility of one (1) additional three (3) year extension as outlined in RFQ 2024-015
